BIRMINGHAM, AL December has been the worst month for the spread of COVID-19 in Alabama, with daily averages throughout the state reaching all-time highs. In Jefferson County, new cases have seen record numbers as well, as the state s largest county has averaged more than 550 new cases per day over the last week.
Monday, the Alabama Department of Public Health confirmed 336 new cases in Jefferson County, which beings the county s 7-day average to 563 new cases per day.
