The Netherlands to ease some coronavirus restrictions
According to sources in The Hague, on Sunday at Rutte’s official residence cabinet ministers and members of the Outbreak Management Team (OMT) discussed whether or not any coronavirus restrictions could be eased and which restrictions would be extended. Rumours suggest that, now that the curfew is protected by a new emergency law, the Dutch government is looking to extend it by a further three weeks, and hopes that doing so will allow for other measures to be lifted.

A recent study has rated the way the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has been handled by the Dutch government as relatively poor, with the Netherlands ranking 75th out of the 98 countries included in the study.
The Lowry Institute COVID Performance Index
The COVID Performance Index is a study aimed at discerning how countries around the world performed in tackling the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. The study included 98 countries that were sorted into four categories - regions, political systems, population size and economic development - to determine if there were any variations between the different types of states’ responses.
The coronavirus curfew came into effect on January 23, and Google reported an immediate rise in the number searches for live-stream webcams of Dutch cities.
