Ed. Note: They’ll be
another chance Saturday for those in priority zip codes (see below) due to yesterday’s malfunction.
Some early reports from this morning: “and today the Captcha is broken.”
“DC has got to do something different with this vaccination portal. Who is being held accountable for this ongoing failure?!”
“Captcha not working on DC vaccination website. Keeps telling me it’s incorrect when it isn’t. Happened three times now.”
“The perks of knowing http errors: got through past 1 page of the DC Covid Vaccine system and got a 503 error (system is overloaded or down). Cool cool cool cool.”

Thanks to LW for sending: “Tie Bar on P Street in Logan Circle looks closed as of Saturday. Everything is boxed up. I think they opened in 2018″
Tie Bar’s website says:
“We have made the difficult decision to close our retail locations in Boston, the Chicago Loop, New York, Philadelphia, and
Washington D.C, with our Chicago Flagship store to remain open at this time.
Like many in our industry, Tie Bar has been impacted by the challenging retail environment brought on by the ongoing pandemic. Choosing to focus on our online business will best allow us to continue serving both new and loyal customers alike.”
“Dear PoPville,
My mother (over 65) is in the process of moving to this area from Iowa. I had a baby in early December, so my mother sold her house in Iowa and arrived in this area in November in order to be available to help us out. She is currently staying in an empty condo in Maryland owned by a friend. She is ultimately looking to buy somewhere in the region (MD/VA/WV) but doesn’t know exactly where yet and that process has been slow given the pandemic/need to quarantine in order to help with the baby. In fact, it may still be several months until she finds the right place.
“Dear PoPville,
Wanted to pass this along. I am a health care provider who works in private practice (not with COVID patients but in close contact with people all day) and I was wondering how we would be notified of the vaccine availability since we aren’t affiliated with a large health care system.
A former coworker of mine was in Giant today and randomly asked the pharmacist for info and got this today! Want to pass along to all health care providers who aren’t affiliated with the big hospitals/health care systems.
You’ll likely need to bring a copy of your license or proof of your employment in a health care setting.”
