Flores-Charter is a longstanding member of the Coronado Democratic Club and faculty emeritus at Southwestern College. She lives in Coronado. My heart is breaking. I am a member of the Coronado Democratic Club who has lived in the city since 1993. Luke Serna, the person who thought it was OK to bring and throw tortillas at a Coronado High School basketball game, was a member of our club for 10 months. Our club is now being targeted as planning this event to force critical race theory on our schools. What? But that’s OK, we can take attacks and lies. We recognize our privilege and as a result our responsibility to continue to educate ourselves and fight for racial justice. A Hispanic friend asked me if Luke had apologized.
