‘We are planning for a fair’ in 2021, says State Fair of Texas spokeswoman
Workers are already preparing, though a final decision is expected to be made by July.

Organizers of the State Fair of Texas are moving ahead with plans for this year’s event Sept. 24 through Oct. 17 despite a cloud of uncertainty from the coronavirus pandemic.
Karissa Condoianis, spokeswoman and senior vice president of public relations, says the team is taking “an optimistic and measured approach” and notes that planning is underway. Last year’s State Fair was canceled.

Trompo Is Coming to East Dallas
Five days ago, many people who spend a lot of time on Instagram, myself included, saw Trompo post eye-bulge-inducing news: a Trompo outpost is coming soon to East Dallas. No more cross-city treks to Oak Cliff. My inquiries about the new location were deftly deflected by Trompo owner Luis Olvera, who’s keeping details on the down-low until the opening nears. It will be located at 4201 Gaston Ave.
