Businesses have been told they will get only 50% of the cash they need to keep going THE Tory group at County Hall have accused council leaders of blaming the government for its poor handling of money intended to help small businesses during lockdown. Yesterday (February 9) the council announced that it could only give some businesses 50 per cent of the money they needed to keep them going unless the Government provided more cash. The council said that demand for financial support outstripped the amount provided to the council by £14.5million. Due to the shortfall the council said that it would be unable to pay businesses more than 50% of the money they have asked for unless the Government provides more cash.
