As we entered the third month of the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions began to loosen.
It was in this month the Eastern Ontario Health Unit region began to see some businesses that had been ordered closed, or to deliver their wares exclusively online and via curbside pickup, begin to reopen their doors to walk-in traffic.

Designated curbside pickup parking spots were well-used on some Cornwall streets, as council faced questions about how it could further support its businesses. The first request to close a portion of Pitt Street to make it a pedestrian-only space were considered, but ultimately declined by council as it realized this wouldn’t benefit all of the businesses there in the same manner.

Bob Peters always saves some of the best for last, in the annual Cornwall Economic Development Year in Review report.
Peters, manager of Cornwall Economic Development, toward the end of his year in review slides presentation turned his attention to industrial activity, and mainly in the business park, where for many companies it was full speed ahead once again in 2020.

“Obviously this is a key sector in Cornwall, with a lot of employment,” Peters said, before slides and mentions of several dozen companies that are growing, evolving and increasing workforce.
