At least six arrests have been made in a heroin trafficking operation in Monroe.
Investigations by the Metro Narcotics Unit, Monroe Police Department and Ouachita Parish Sheriff s Office have led to the arrest of a man investigators say has been bringing heroin from the New Orleans area in addition to multiple people who have been known to sell the narcotic.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A child is in the hospital following a shooting Thursday night, police say.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, a 3-year-old girl was walking with her father in the 6000 block of Downman Road on Feb. 25. Her father says he heard gunshots and realized his daughter had been struck.
She was taken by private vehicle to a hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound to her hand and a graze wound. She is listed in stable condition.
