A Talladega teen has been arrested in connection with a December killing.
Jarell Dishon King, 19, is charged with one count of capital murder and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
He was taken into custody about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday by the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Etowah County and Talladega County sheriff’s deputies. The suspect was found hiding in a residence in the 1500 block of Alabama Avenue in Gadsden.
King is charged in the Dec. 5 slaying of 26-year-old Corneil Dontavious James. Talladega County sheriff’s officials said deputies responded at 6:45 p.m. that Saturday to Munford Exxon on Highway 21. Responding officers arrived and found James inside a 2017 Chevy Cruz in the parking lot. He had been shot multiple times. He was taken to Citizens Baptist Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
