Firefighters worked through the night to put out a major fire at a recycling centre in Cork city.
Eight units of the fire service were called to action after the fire broke out at the National Recycling Limited, on John F. Connolly Road in Churchfield, with the alarm raised at 7.45pm. Body of man, 70s, found after Cork house fire

The body of a man in his 70s has been discovered following a house fire in Cork.
Members of Cork City Fire Service found the body of the elderly man in an upstairs bedroom after they were alerted to a fire at a house on Rathcooney Road in Ballyvolane on the northside of the city.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
Initial indications are that it started accidentally.

A garda investigation is underway following the recovery of the body of a woman from the River Lee near Cork City this morning.
Gardaí confirmed to the Irish Examiner that the body was discovered in the water shortly before 8.30 am.
Cork City Fire Service said that three units from the Anglesa St station were dispatched at approximately 8.31 am, following a call from the coast guard.
