CADILLAC — With roughly eight hours of testimony given by 14 witnesses Wednesday, the second day of the Demont Glenn Storm murder trial was a full day.
Houston, MO Texas County Memorial Hospital received an official announcement from the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) last Thursday, September 29, that the hospital has been approved for $332,000 in grant funds to benefit the new surgery center. The DRA is a federal-state partnership created by Congress in 2000 to promote and encourage economic development. DRA's mission is to help create jobs, build communities, and improve lives. The funds come shortly after the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development awarded TCMH a $1 million grant through the America Rescue Plan's Emergency Rural Healthcare grant. This makes a total of $2,332,000 in federal and state funding for the new surgery center. "The road to economic revitalization begins with strengthening a community's infrastructure, supporting small businesses, and developing a workforce to meet local industry needs," said DRA Federal Co-Chairman Dr. Corey Wiggins.
