The coast guard crew met up with the 22yearold from vermont had arrived in the harbor earlier aboard a freighter. Crew members found carman sunday afternoon floating in a raft in the Atlantic Ocean 100 miles south of the vineyard. Carman spent a week adrift after his fishing boat sank off rhode island a day after he had gone out on a fishing trip with his mother.
