Digging deep: Berrymede pupils Cordell Amponsah and Julia Kanaan, 10, with Rachel Pepper, ARTification Director YOUNGSTERS are joining forces with the older generation for a ‘re-greening’ and public art project in Acton. Urban Oasis will feature food-growing, harvesting and cooking, arts and crafts and the development of two new murals. It is aimed at strengthening community bonds in Acton, where a lot of regeneration work is underway. It began with children from West Acton Primary School and Berrymede Junior School planting 800 saplings during National Tree Week. The project is being delivered by the Acton-based charity, ARTification, with £30,000 funding from City Bridge Trust, the City of London Corporation’s charity.
