There s a memorial in Kasson and people are chipping in to make sure it gets the restoration work it needs.
Three women came together and formed a group, which they call, the Save the Wall Committee. They reached out to the community to save the wall and so far, they have raised $43,000. We ve been really lucky that so many people in the community wanted to save it, Coralie Fiegel, member of the Save the Wall Committee said.
The wall is 83 years old, it was built during the great depression and created many jobs for the people of Kasson. But over the years, the stone started cracking and pieces started falling away. The three women have a special connection to the wall and they wanted to see it the way it used to be.

KASSON As a boy, Dave Senjem would board the bus in Hayfield and ride to Kasson to swim in the town s pool in the summers, and he often marveled at the limestone wall and pillars that greeted him at the park where the pool sits.
