The Canadian Mental Health Association Kenora Branch is looking for the community s support to Raise the Roof for Kenora Supportive Housing .
Kenora Supportive Housing (KSH) has a mission to provide safe and affordable long-term housing and short-term respite housing to individuals who have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness who are at a risk or are homeless.
The KSH building is in need of major repairs to its roof and the cost to repair it is anticipated at $17,000.00. Unfortunately due to capital funding distribution, CMHA Kenora only receives $1800.00 annually to cover infrastructure costs for the KSH program. If the repairs can not be done, individuals will be displaced and potentially homeless.

The Kenora Rotary Club is busy fundraising for the Peace Park, which will be located beside the Blue Heron.
Copperfin Credit Union has come on as a major corporate sponsor.
Rotary member John Dahl says the park will feature a couple of granite monuments in the park as well.
“We’ve partnered with the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls committee,” explains Dahl.
“They have a monument, it a fairly big monument, now that will be part of the peace park and we will also have the Peace Pole. We’ll see if we can add some different types of grasses and low maintenance bushes. We have some nice plans for the park.”
