In this file photo, Saltillo Police Chief Grant Bailey shows off the plaque he received on behalf of the department for their efforts to notify citizens of weather and road conditions during the February ice storm in North Mississippi. Bailey will resign from the police department at the end of the month, bringing to an end a career with the Saltillo Police Department that stretched more than two decades.

Incumbent Craig Sanders finished close behind to secure a second term on the board. I felt like I would do well, but I didn t think I would lead the voting, said Witcher, who finished with 291 votes. I tried to reach out to as many people as I could. I am humbled to say the least.
Sanders, who ran for office in 2013 and was elected in 2017, collected 280 votes. I am glad to be coming back and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead, Sanders said. We have a lot of problems with aging infrastructure. I am glad I will be able to help tackle those issues.
