YANGON (The Nation/Asia News Network): An increasing number of refugees from Myanmar’s Kayah State are expected to flee to Mae Hong Son province in northern Thailand after the Myanmar military government implemented its so-called “four cuts” strategy to weaken Karenni resistance forces in the border state, a report said on Wednesday (Aug 30).
According to the NUG, they have provided the IDPs with food on an urgent basis due to heavy battles in Karenni State. They have also supported initial funds for food and other emergency items for the increasing number of the IDPs.
