The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship returns to action Saturday (March 20) at Sebring International Raceway for the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts. There will be 36 cars on the grid for the 12-hour classic, split between five classes.
With Action Express Racing confirming a couple of weeks ago that their second car with Ally sponsorship will do the full Michelin Endurance Cup, all seven cars that participated in Daytona are back. All seven teams are running three-driver lineups. That means that drivers such as Helio Castroneves, Mike Rockenfeller and AJ Allmendinger are not entered.

Finali Mondiali Ferrari 2020 Rewind
9th March 2021
Ferrari World Finals 2020 finally went down after the postponement back in November 20 due to lockdown restrictions in Italy. The event took place at the Misano circuit behind closed doors. Ferrari Challenge race drivers could finally compete in the last race of the season and seal the victory for the Coppa Shell and Trofeo Pirelli championships.
Finale Mondiale Trofeo Pirelli
The World Champions of the Trofeo Pirelli and Pirelli AM 2020 were Florian Merckx and Han Sikkens (HR Owen) respectively. 30 minutes of racing was not enough to decide the winner of the elite class: after scrutineering race stewards decided to disqualify the car belonging to Thomas Neubauer (Charles Pozzi – Courage) for technical irregularities, in spite of the car having commanded the race throughout.
The new GTD Pro class will include race cars built to FIA GT3 technical regulations.
GTD Pro offers the opportunity for factory teams and driver lineups to compete in the class, while customer teams, Pro-Am or Am-Am lineups have the option of competing in either GTD PRO or the standard GTD class.
GTD Pro will replace the GTLM class, a class that has dwindled to just six cars for the 2021 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The writing was on the wall for the GT Le Mans class at the beginning of this year with Ford pulling the GT out of racing in 2019, and Porsche announcing that it wouldn’t be back with its two car team in 2021.

Corvette Racing newcomers Nick Tandy and Alexander Sims won Sunday’s Motul 100 Rolex 24 qualifying race, securing pole position for the No. 4 Corvette C8.R team for the 24-hour endurance race.
Sims started the 100-minute sprint race from third position, just behind the two BMW M8s of BMW Team RLL. The 32-year-old Briton, a former BMW factory driver himself, managed to snake past the two BMWs on the opening lap and kept the two front-engine coupes behind him as the track dried from a pre-race shower. The caution then came out with just over an hour remaining, sending Sims and his No. 4 Corvette C8.R into the pits for a driver change and for a set of dry condition slick tires.
