Carrefour and Nordic cooperatives sign partnership agreement
Carrefour International Partnership and Coop Trading and its four affiliates from Finland (SOK), Denmark (Coop Denmark), Norway (Coop Norway) and Sweden (Coop Sweden) have signed a partnership agreement that will cover private label sourcing. The agreement will see the four cooperatives participating in the buying of Carrefour’s French, Italian and Spanish food and non-food private labels. The cooperatives will gain access to the private labels, which enable them to offer a differentiated range to shoppers, while also making the manufacturing and buying process more efficient.

Europe’s largest grocery retailer Carrefour has agreed on a deal with several leading chains in the Nordics that will allow them to purchase its own label food and non-food products and develop “common synergies” in manufacturing.
The partnership agreement has been signed with Coop Trading and its four affiliates from Finland (SOK), Denmark (Coop Denmark), Norway (Coop Norway) and Sweden (Coop Sweden).
Carrefour said the retailers will able to purchase products from its French, Italian and Spanish own-label ranges.
Carrefour’s Executive Director for International Partnerships, Patrick Lasfargues said: “We are very pleased to count with a new major Partner which has shown a strong growth and a very good retail execution in its domestic markets. Nordic Coops will be for sure our best ambassador for Carrefour multiple brands in food and non-food.”
