And after a week of war, the government and media are again friends with Facebook, which has put news back on its platform and agreed to cough up some cash.
And first to take advantage of the money on offer was Seven West, with CEO Kerry Stokes saying:

Small, regional news outlets are not yet reaping the benefits of the Government s media bargaining code, despite the code s aims to level the playing field between news companies and tech giants.
The Country Press Association, which represents 160 regional, independent newspapers around the country, has not yet been offered a deal from either Facebook or Google.
Country news outlets are concerned that they aren t getting a slice of the media bargaining pie, despite their importance in regional and rural communities.
