David P. Foth

June 23, 2021 155 TORRINGTON – David P. Foth, 83, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rose Marie (Fedor) Foth for 58 years. He was her high school sweetheart and soulmate. David was born May 24, 1938, in Torrington, son of the late Hugo and Julia (Kiesel) Foth. He served his country with the U.S. Army in Fort Bragg, N.C. He was employed by Aerospace as a machinist until his retirement. David worked many years with Fitzgerald’s and Bertolette Machines. He was a man of precision and perfection. If he built it, it would last forever!

Carofino LITCHFIELD – Dr. George Thomas Carofino, 77, of Litchfield, peacefully slipped away on May 11, 2021, in the embrace of his wife and surrounded by his loving family. George was born in Meriden on May 31, 1943, the son of the late George Raymond Carofino and the late Anita (Rinaldini) Carofino. George graduated from St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, Mass., in 1962, and attended Villanova University for two years. He was accepted into the School of Dentistry, University of Maryland after completing his sophomore year, despite the fact that the usual admission requirements were a college degree. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Timothy O. Heatwole Award, presented to the student who demonstrated the most humanitarian concern for his patients. That sense of genuine interest in, and concern for, all that he met was a hallmark of his life.

April 20, 2021 Phyllis Dinda TORRINGTON – Phyllis (Geremia) Dinda, 61 years old, of Torrington, adored wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of James Dinda of Torrington. Phyllis was the daughter of Lorenzo Geremia of Berlin, Conn., and of the late Priscilla (Greene). She was born and raised in New Britain, along with her brothers Larry and James Geremia, and among her large and very supportive extended family. She later moved to Torrington with her lifelong love James Dinda, where they raised their three cherished children. She retired from Apple Rehabilitation where she was a bookkeeper at the Wolcott Hall facility in Torrington.
