and this is beginning to focus like a laser on trumping donald trump, to get him off of that stage or at least to its edge where he falls off sometime before iowa. yeah, that i think is very clearly the kind of conversation happening. it leaves, of course it leaves i think a lot of donors looking at jeb bush, john kasich, marco rubio as sort of the remaining folks that i think have been basically the favorites of the donor class so far. and part of what the walker thing says to me again is, look, just because jeb bush fund-raising in name, doesn t mean he takes this either or that he survives. i mean, he has to start doing things at some point to turn around his campaign. well, i think you ve got to be careful there, chris, because the bush team is a very sophisticated smart team, and while everyone is focused on that bright shining object that is donald trump and now carly and ben carson, they have been systematically and methodically organizing on the ground.
if i will be here because if this guy becomes the president he wants to deport me and 11 million other immigrants. is that a conversation happening in the kitchen where you are working, among family members? i don t think that anyone in the kitchen talks about it because they are shy about it. they don t follow politics much. but at the same time, i think they will be in fear if they were to lose their jobs or be deported. because what are we going to do? how will he send us back. what would it mean for you to have a president and donald trump, nempb the republican field as far as i can tell says they will repeal the executive order that granted you some semblance of legal authority. what does it mean for you. i would be unable to work. i would end up getting deported and then i will go back to mexico and my life is not there anymore. my life is over here. it will definitely be completely different and then i ll probably i wouldn t have a good life over there, as good as i ha
class and economics but there is also a special type of ostracizing and vulnerability that happens when you are a member of certain vulnerable races. certain vulnerable genders. a woman. the trans gender discussion recently. with native people, historically we re not even invited with these conversations. there is a conversation happening in our house, at you are a tanl. and we re not even allowed to have a conversation with the folks having that conversation and that has a lot to do with race. and specifically with these young ladies, the frustration of being a young black person, who has decidedly different concerns than older generation black folks, who even civil rights generation black folks, who are progressives but there is a young voice that need to be had. and these young ladies occupied that space. and once again i think there is a bit of confusion or question regarding bernie sanders specifically and him being the recipient of this sort of movement. but at the same time, the
for this legislation yet. i think we re in a new age now, in a new world. and i think the congressman is correct that democrats and activists are now going to pick this up as a real cause. it is striking though the two very different responses from the two parties here where on one side they re saying let s push forward and get more. on the republican side torn between do we fight this all out, fight gay marriage all out with a constitutional amendment or settle for this idea of religious freedom, basically saying fine gay marriage is the law of the land. now let s let the people who don t want anything to do with this not have anything to do with it. this defines a modern gop so well. a guy like jeb bush is trying to thread the needle here like i m for religious freedom laws but don t want to do this amendment thing. meanwhile in the house, right, even if there is a thought of doing enda or things that the house is full of gerrymander districts. even though there is a conversation
change and people grow. you shouldn t be held accountable for something you did as a 14-year-old, no matter how heinous it is. so i want to come back and ask how does the internet change how private figures are swept into the spotlight because of their interactions with a public figure, much like monica lewinsky? so i think right now they have to embrace the fact that there is the internet there s a conversation happening. but i like to flip ia little bit. instead of looking at the negative, look at the positive. the internet has an opportunity to touch the world. you have an opportunity to touch people in different places share a story, have a testimony and change someone s life. if we think about it that way, i think we ll make better decisions on how we re going to engage. now we know that we have an audience and can do something to move the world forward as opposed to being selfish or not thinking or not being considerate of not being considerate of the impact of what we re d
