Coming up next we will visit the air museum and hear about the citys contribution to world war ii. We are at the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum in pueblo, colorado. This is located at what was the site of the world war ii pueblo airbase. At the opening of world war ii, there was a tremendous need for training americans. So, even prior to the bombing of pearl harbor, pueblo had been looked at it identified as a potential location for a training facility. It was late in 1941 that the ordinance dave tempo was located to the east. Depot is located to the east. Initially coming in and out of the base it was transport type aircrafts, bringing in personnel. Later, though, we had b17 flying fortresses coming through here.
