particularly under attack. why? any time you see the federal government begin to exert control over the marketplace of ideas you have a problem that is brewing at least you are on the threshold of a problem. the old fairness doctrine regime that the fcc implemented many years ago is an example of that in which the government said where there were controversial issues of substantial public importance it was necessary to ensure that all viewpoints had equal time. now the equal time aspect of this is not the problem. what the problem is who determines what is controversial, who determines what matters of substantial public importance. you guessed it? the federal government. you see the government intruding itself into areas of speech and content control that are very problematic for religious broadcasters. people fear the fairness doctrine will return. thank you for joining us. thanks for having me on.
