Fujifilm has just announced the latest member to join the Instax Mini line, the Instax Mini 40.
Featuring a vintage design, the Instax Mini 40 sets itself apart from the other instant cameras in the line with it’s retro look and vintage finishing. The black camera body features silver touches giving it a sophisticated and dare I say it, more grown up feel than some of the other cameras in the line and we’re already obsessed.
Similar to the other loved instant cameras within Fujifilm’s popular line of Instax Minis, the Mini 40 is simple to use, featuring two buttons and two camera settings with two shooting modes. Whether it’s a selfie you want to snap or a scenic shot with you behind the lens, the Instax Mini 40 is ready for whenever the adventure and photo opportunity takes you.

Fujifilm has launched the “timeless” instax mini 40 camera, the latest addition to its instax line-up, which uses analogue mini film. The company is also launching a new mini film variety, called Contact Sheet, which as its name suggests, mimics the look of a classic film contact sheet. As with all instax film, Contact Sheet will be available with 10 exposures per cartridge.
Key features of the new cameras include an Automatic Exposure function for quick point-and-shoot photography and a self-explanatory Selfie Mode, activated by pulling out the front-end edge of the lens after turning the camera on.
This makes it easier than ever to take selfies and close-up pictures.
Fujifilm has announced that its newest entry-level camera, the Instax Mini 40 instant camera, would soon launch in South Africa. The Mini 40 embraces the old-school look and feel of film cameras thanks to its all-black leatherette body combined with a classic silver frame.
Despite its retro looks, the Mini 40 incorporates the latest technology, as found on Instax’s Mini 11 and Square SQ1 instant cameras released last year.
With the ‘Automatic Exposure’ function, for example, the Mini 40 automatically optimises the shutter speed, flash output and other settings according to the overall shooting conditions. This allows for balanced prints that are correctly exposed in both bright outdoor and low-light indoor environments.

Fujifilm has announced its latest analog instant camera with the same mission statement as its previous instant cameras: make it as simple as possible to take and print photos with which you can decorate every inch of free wall space you have. Resembling an old-fashioned film camera with its black faux leather body and silver rails, the Instax Mini 40 (£90) definitely has vintage appeal, and launches alongside a new mini film variety that mimics the look of a classic contact film sheet. Features include an automatic exposure function that automatically senses ambient light levels as you press the shutter and adjusts shutter speed and flash output accordingly, and a selfie mode that can be activated by pulling out the front-end edge of the lens after you power the camera on. It takes the widely sold Instax Mini film, with a roll of the new Contact Sheet film costing £9. The Instax Mini 40 will be available to buy from April 21.
