JACKSON, MI A total of $50,000 was awarded to small Michigan communities in Oscoda, Livingston and Gratiot county.
Consumers Energy Foundation’s Put Your Town on the Map competition pushed small communities of populations of up to 10,000 people to develop project ideas designed to make smaller Michigan communities a better place to live and work, officials said.
A panel of judges chose the three winning projects Wednesday, April 14.
The three winning projects are:
First Place for $25,000: Comins Township - Funding will be used to create a diverse public square designed for community events and tourism promotion.
