SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today called for intensified vaccination drive for focused and target groups under the age group 18-45 years in the district from Tuesday to break the transmission chain and check the spread of infection.

SRINAGAR: In a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam, it was informed that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has decided to accelerate the vaccination of people under the 18-45 age category in a focused and targeted manner.
Administrative Secretaries of the departments of Health & Medical Education, and Housing & Urban Development, besides Divisional Commissioners, Kashmir and Jammu, Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners JMC and SMC, and Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) participated in the meeting.
A statement issued here read,
“Currently, Jammu and Kashmir is among the leading regions in the country in vaccination of above 45 years age group by vaccinating 62% of its eligible population compared to the national average of 32%. Within J&K 4 districts have so far achieved 90% coverage in this age group. It is further expected that the remaining population in the 45+ age category will be covered within a few days.”

The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Sunday decided to accelerate ongoing vaccination drive for 18-45 years, age group, with a target of administrating 40,000 to 50,000 doses per day. This excessive outreach programme drive will begin from May 25 to a specific target. All the 20 Deputy Commissioners have instructed to conduct surveys wherever necessary to ensure coverage of target groups within one month.

Hyderabad, May 1 : Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday said development could be possible due to the hard work put in by the working class and the human progress was made from the hands of those toiled hard.
He greeted workers, farmers and other working-class people on the occasion of May Day.
KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly known, said in his message that a vast majority of people are dependent on the agriculture based vocations and large percent of people are eking out a living by working in several factories and industries. He said as farmers, farm labourers, hereditary profession workers, majority of people are contributing the development and progress of the state and country by their sheer labour.
