as the evidents play out in washington. thank you for your time today. thank you. shannon: all right. fair and balanced. later in the show we will talk to democratic senator mark udall of colorado. he is the one behind the push to have members of congress from both sides of the aisle sit together in the state of the union address next week. it s an idea that is gaining support and attention as well. that s coming up. women on the front lines, long been a hot topic for debate. today, a new report says women should be allowed to serve in every capacity in the military, including combat roles. peter doocy joins us now to tell us more about what is behind the report. shannon, the mission of the military leadership diversity commission who put out this report to review military policies and figure out where there are opportunities for the advancement of minority groups. and they rae creptly took a group at areas where women could be doing more and they concluded that females should
constitutionally compelled to do that. and prohibited spending more than they from spenneding more than they take in. because members of congress have been unable to agree so far on where they want to cut, they kick the can down the road. the only way to stop it is balanced amendment. shannon: how do you break the habit of borrowing to cover spending? it s something those of us in the households could only get away with for a limited period of time. how do you break the chokehold in washington? if it were a household we were talking about we d say cut up the credit cards, cut it in to pieces. pay off the bill. which may take time but stop accumulating new debt. passing a balanced budget amendment, first out of congress and getting it ratified by three-fourths of the states is our collective act as a country of cutting up the credit card. shannon: i want to ask you
the american people are demanding this. the american people are seeing that we have from washington, mortgaged the future of the generations. we have long rejected the idea in america. it s time that we stop that by adopting a balanced budget amendment. taking away from congress the ability to do this. temptation to spend more than we have to the tune of $1.5 trillion a year has proven to be insurmountable one. we need constitutional con straint on congress so it can t do this anymore. shannon: for that proposed amendment to get going, you have a couple of options. vote by two-third of both houses, or taking it to the state and getting the sledgeousliture to get moving on legislature to get moving on it. which is an easier way to go in you mentioned people are riled up about the issue. many of the colleagues in congress may not be ready to cut some of the financial spending strings.
