Women leaders and activists have called on Nigerian women to work together and develop a platform to attain political and socio-economic power.
A statement on Tuesday said the call was made by the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Bisi Fayemi, Chairperson of Gender and Constitution Reform Network, Prof. Joy Ezeilo and others at the Womanifesto Conference 2020 edition, in Abuja.
Ezeilo, who was also the chairperson of the conference, encouraged women to speak out against gender-based violence and get involved in the socio-political environment.
Fayemi stated that a new culture orientation was required to groom the next generation of men who would see women as counterparts rather than a weaker sex.
