Greek Diaspora Commemorates Homeland’s Bicentennial

Every year Greece and the Greek Diaspora celebrates its national day on March 25th. This day commemorates the start of the War of Independence fought against the Ottoman Empire.
On March 25, 2021, Greece will commemorate the 200th anniversary of its great national day.
This bicentennial will be marked with great pomp and ceremony not only in Greece but in Greek communities of the diaspora around the world.
Tragically, Greece missed out on celebrating the centennial of this historic event in 1921 due to the conflict in Asia Minor against Turkey.
Greek-Canadian Constantine Passaris Listed in Who’s Who in Greece

Constantine Passaris, a Greek-Canadian economics professor at the University of New Brunswick at Fredericton is included in the prestigious inaugural edition of “Who’s Who in Greece 2020” for his long and distinguished service to his home country.
Who’s Who in Greece 2020 includes short biographical profiles of among other notables Greek prime ministers and other prominent politicians, leading Greek academics and scientists, as well as Greek industrialists, shipping magnates and entrepreneurs.
