The Superbet Chess Classic Romania & Superbet Rapid & Blitz Poland Wildcards Announced

The Grand Chess Tour (GCT) has confirmed the seven wildcard players for the Superbet Chess Classic Romania and the Superbet Rapid & Blitz Poland, which will take place from 4 May to 14 May. The first leg of the GCT, the Superbet Chess Classic Romania will include all nine full tour players and one wildcard player, Romanian Grandmaster Bogdan-Daniel Deac. The Superbet Chess Classic Romania is sponsored by Superbet Foundation, One United and First Bank and features a 10 player round-robin battle for a total of $350,000 in prize money. Press Release.

The joys of chess: The Romanian Blitz, Rapid and Solving Championships

From 11 to 13 March the Romanian Rapid, Blitz and Solving Championships took place in Bucharest, at the "Pentagon Events" venue and attracted a record number of 212 participants, 163 in the Open section and 49 in the Women’s section. Kvika Reykjavik Open 2022 – No Covid-restrictions

With the start of the 2022 Reykjavik Open just over a month away, it’s time to take a little stock and remind chess players about the upcoming event. Perhaps some people are hesitant to make a decision on participating in a chess tournament due to the current Covid situation. We can however give you some fantastic news. Since last Friday, there are no, i.e. ZERO, Covid restrictions in Iceland. Everything is open “as normal” and there are no longer any restrictions on the border.
