Daniel McAdams saw his 80-year-old father about 3.30pm on Monday, February 1. As his dad was about to go into a café, on Widnes Road, Widnes, McAdams approached him and called him a name. McAdams, of Moorside Court, Widnes, then punched his father in the face. The victim fell to the floor, as did the glasses he had been wearing, and the assault left him with a serious facial injury. He was given assistance by members of the public before being taken to hospital in an ambulance. McAdams walked away following the assault and was arrested at his home within an hour.
