NSW police had been warned hours before a man fatally stabbed his ex-partner 16 times that he was knife happy , an inquest has been told.
Emma Russell, a close friend of the murdered woman Gabriella Thompson, 27, claimed she told two police officers of her concerns that Tafari Walton could stab and possibly kill Ms Thompson.
Walton, 22, did just that a few hours later when high on cocaine and ice before being shot dead by police the following day.
Ms Russell first contacted Belmont police station in the Hunter region at 12.40am on March 13, 2019, after Ms Thompson had failed to turn up for work and was not returning calls.
