One Injured, One Dead in Green County Crash
An Everton woman died and a Springfield man was injured in a three-vehicle accident that occurred Monday morning in Greene County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 1998 Dodge pickup with a trailer was stopped on US 160, one mile west of Willard at 8:33 a.m., waiting to make a left turn into a private drive, when the trailer was rear ended by a westbound 2010 Ford Edge, driven by 36-year-old Jessica A. Landis of Everton. After the impact, the Edge traveled into the eastbound lane and was struck by an eastbound 2012 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 26-year-old Kyle A. Mejia of Seattle, Washington.

Corporal Aaron Post of Platte County was recently named as Missouri’s Outstanding Conservation Agent for 2021 for his accomplishments and service to his community and conservation. A committee from MDC’s Protection Branch selected Post as outstanding agent. Cpl. Chris Ely of Texas County was runner up. Post was also selected as MDC’s Kansas City Region Agent of the Year.
“Along with each of the regional outstanding agents, Aaron and Chris exemplified what true community policing looks like in the resource law enforcement profession,” said Randy Doman, MDC Protection Branch chief. “They provided great cases, community engagement, public safety, problem-solving, outreach, and excellence in leadership and attitude.”
