Robert Benson Kanuit, 76, of Hermantown, MN, died on April 24, 2021, in Lakewood Ranch, FL.
“Bob” was born in Duluth, MN to Joseph and Wilma Kanuit. He grew up on the Martin Road and attended Hermantown High School, graduating in 1962.
He married his high school sweetheart, Margie Kratt, in 1965. They were happily married for 55 years.
After high school, Bob obtained an accounting degree at UMD, and then became a certified public accountant. After working for some large accounting firms for a few years, he was hired by Cutler Magner Company in Duluth to be its controller. He quickly ascended to vice president and chief financial officer of the company. He worked for Cutler Magner Company for over three decades. During that time, he and Clarence LaLiberte, the company president and one of its owners, became great friends.
