‘Improper passing’ led to head-on Fairfield crash, police say
A husband and wife from Madison were taken to the hospital Friday night after their van collided head-on with a car that apparently was trying to improperly pass other vehicles on Middle Road in Fairfield.

A husband and wife from Madison were taken to the hospital Friday night with non-life-threatening injuries after their van collided head-on with a car that was trying to improperly pass other vehicles on Middle Road in Fairfield, police said.
Connor Gorney, 20, also of Madison, was driving a 2009 Ford Focus sedan south on Middle Road near the intersection with Back Road just before 5:48 p.m. when the crash occurred, according to Fairfield police Sgt. Patrick Mank, who said a citation against Gorney is pending because he didn’t have insurance.
