Explosion. An eyewitness man identified is 18yearold Connor Goldman climbing on a rock structure and stepped on something that exploded. A part of the Southeast Region of this park is closed. Police investigate whether firefighters played a part in the explosion. Sources say goldman was climbing on the rocks with two friends, 20yearold thomashines and 18yearold joseph staple. He was taken to the hospital with a possible amputation. His foot is all, but detached. His friends claim that he was walking down the rocks and stepped on something. Its rich tropical moisture that has surged in across the state. Newton is really moving through southeast arizona here this morning. Thats where the main track of it is. Its crossing the border and moving up to spots like show low. And you can see that the clouds were feeling the moisture across the state and getting some of the rain. The heaviest most widespread hain has been confined to southeast arizona and we had pockets near gila bend. So far, fairly spotty showers, but under the thicker clouds we have areas of light sprinkles. Some heavier rain across parts of the west valley over the white tanks tracking to the southwest.
