Relatives of Greg Dawson say they're upset at what they see as a light sentence given to his killer. They want to see changes to the way Gladue reports, which take into account an Indigenous offender's background, are used in the criminal justice system.
Connie Thorn, 52, pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this year for killing her common-law partner in 2017 in Whitehorse. The judge handed down a five-year sentence, but also gave Thorn credit for the time she's already spent in jail.
