Concerns about complicated, time-consuming assessment and enrollment procedures for several human services programs, the tri-county Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Citizens Advisory Council agreed Friday morning to form a committee to address the ongoing issues. The action was taken during a meeting of the advisory council held in the Hopewell Area Senior Center.
Several council members expressed frustration with efforts to sign up for one or more human services programs including caregiving assistances, which many seniors consider important. Heading the list is in-home care which currently has a waiting list as well as assessment challenges, it was pointed out.
The need for help in enhancing human services programs, as funded by the state, was aired during a discussion with state Rep. Jesse Topper during Friday morningâs meeting.
