Is there an organization in town that makes you feel good? Earthplace, The Nature Discovery Center, is a great resource and destination for our town. Besides the well-known benefits of hosting pre-school classes and having hiking trails, Earthplace also hosts lectures on ecological gardening. They recently added a native plant garden in partnership with The Aspetuck Land Trust and with the support of the Westport Women’s Club 2019 Ruegg Grant.

Tell us about an organization in your town that makes you feel good An organization in town that makes me feel good is A Better Chance of Westport. I love that they continue to provide life-changing educational opportunities to so many boys and young men who become wonderful members of our community. Since 2005, with the support of A Better Chance, there have been twenty-five Staples High School graduates who have gone on to four-year colleges and universities, graduate school, and embarked on successful careers!

Tell us about an organization in your town that makes you feel good A Better Chance, Westport: a national organization that identifies, recruits and educates student leaders from the most economically disadvantaged neighborhoods and places them in schools like our high school, Staples, to equip them to succeed. Since starting in 2002, twenty-five student scholars have benefitted from this program.
