Hartford HealthCare has dropped its widely lauded internal investment department, placing its $4.3 billion investment and endowment portfolio in the hands of Morgan Stanley. The move shocked members of Hartford HealthCare's Investment Subcommittee, a largely volunteer board composed of experienced investment executives and experts. Five of seven volunteer members including Chairman David M. Roth have resigned since the surprise announcement at a special meeting held over Zoom last Tuesday.

Published April 21. 2021 4:59PM I write in support of my friend, Aundré Bumgardner, who is running for mayor of Groton City. Aundré and I worked together through the transition of the Connecticut Treasury from one administration to another in 2019. Aundré was not only instrumental in policy design and implementation, but he was always focused on making complicated financial issues relevant and understandable for everyone. He is smart, engaging, hardworking and humble. I admire his tenacity and I respect him very much. Aundré has been out working hard and knocking on doors all spring. He is a phenomenal listener. He brings people together and offers real solutions. I look at this race as an exciting opportunity for Groton to hold up and celebrate a young, smart, capable, empathetic person of color. Doing so should be considered an honor for all of us.
