To address a chronic shortage of volunteer ambulance crews, cut reliance on mutual aid and keep local lifesaving response fast and effective, towns are looking to hire for the positions.
Gov. Ned Lamont on Wednesday signed into law a 13-month extension of the rules on outdoor dining for the state’s restaurants.
Pandemic restrictions prompted the initial legislation in early 2020 to allow businesses to serve diners by expanding their outdoor footprints regardless of local zoning rules. That law was due to expire on Thursday.
“So many restaurants are locally owned, small businesses, and this is one way we can help in their economic recovery,” Lamont said.
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has signed into law legislation (House Bill 5271) allowing the relaxed rules on outdoor dining at restaurants that he established in response to the initial outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic to continue for at least another 13 months.
