Connaught School for Girls deputy headteacher Gareth Cross is also the lead singer of a pop/rock band A deputy headteacher who worked twice as hard to keep schools open during the pandemic has produced a music album as part of a pop/rock band. Gareth Cross has been a teacher at Connaught School for Girls in Leytonstone for the past 14 years. By night, on weekends and during school holidays, he is the lead singer of the band Engines Made from Soup. Having worked tirelessly to ensure pupils did not miss out on their education during the various lockdowns, the popular teacher s new album has been supported by parents in the school community.
