republicans have another chance. they ll have to walk the walk and not just talk the talk, being in the minority. but it s very, very impressive to see john boehner who obviously did not stay in leadership after the gingrich era. and after that era, he brought himself back through hard work. so it s really the american dream for a man of that caliber to succeed. i think we re all just very, very optimistic that what can happen. but, you know, in a larger sense, what he said, which was most important, i thought, is he said to the american people, our debt is equivalent to our gdp and we can t kick the can down the road any more. we re going to have to do something and solve this problem. so i hope all republicans heard that because we re going to have to make some very, very difficult votes. many votes will not allow any compromise. i think republicans have their work cut out for them. california congressman darrel
