HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - As violent mobs attacked the Capitol building on Wednesday, members of Hawaiiâs congressional delegation took to Twitter to confirm they were safe.
US Sen. Mazie Hirono tweeted out an update at 10:55 a.m., thanking everyone for their concern.
âI want to let you know that Iâm safe,â she wrote, on Twitter. âI implore the President to tell his supporters to stand down for everyoneâs safety and let Congress do our job today.â
