WEST LIBERTY State Sen. Ryan Weld will deliver the commencement address at West Liberty University’s Spring 2021 Commencement Ceremonies.
Weld will provide a virtual speech presented on the Main Street Bank Video Board at both the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies. Due to social distancing requirements, there is one graduate and three undergraduate and ceremonies planned for Friday and Saturday.
WLU President W. Franklin Evans will preside at the ceremonies and faculty will participate in the ceremony for their respective colleges.
“We are grateful that Senator Weld will join us as our speaker. He is a leader committed to the future and we thank him for his ongoing support for higher education. We are honored by his presence,” Evans said.

West Virginia Senate Majority Whip. Ryan Weld, R-Brooke, will give the keynote address at West Liberty University’s spring commencement, a group of four ceremonies to be held May 7-8 at the university’s Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex.
A graduate ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. May 7, while three undergraduate ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. May 8. Weld will give his address virtually, and it will be displayed on the ASRC’s video board.
