Having tried to paint a picture of the security situation in central africa, one that encompasses the very notion of security that must necessarily address the challenge of the democratization and development, i would like now to go to my third and last point in this set of remarks. And here i will hone in on the expectations of africa as to its cooperation with the United States of america. Ladies and gentlemen, i call for a deepening, dare i say, a regrounding of relations between africa and the United States of america. It seems to me that africa and the usa are two continents that ignore each other rather than recognizing everything that should bring them together. To arms control. The middle east will soon be crisscrossed. A region would turn into a nuclear tinderbox. If anyone thinks this deal kicks the can down the road, think again. When we get down that road, we will face a much more dangerous iran, a middle east littered with nuclear bombs, and a countdown to a potential nuclear nightmare. Ladies and gentlemen, i have come to tell you we dont have to bet the security of the world on the hope that iran will change for the better. We dont have to gamble with our future and our childrens future. We can insist that restrictions on Irans Nuclear program not be lifted for as long as iran continues its aggression in the region and the world.
