党史上的今天·陕西（7月21日）分享到：关键词：耀县起义 1933年7月21日，在中共陕西省委的领导下，杨虎城部十七路军骑兵团团长王泰吉在耀县率部起义，宣布成立“西北民众抗日义勇军”，王泰吉任总指挥。部队在耀县驻扎7天后离开耀县县城，开往三原县武字区。后在三原以北战斗失利，率余部撤往照金，与习仲勋、李妙斋等领导的游击队会合。耀县起义是主力红军南下渭华失败，中共陕西省委机关和各地党、团组织遭到严重破坏，以照金为中心的陕甘边革命根据地面临危机的历史时刻发起的。习仲勋后曾称赞这一壮举：“激励了处于困难境地的西北革命活动，鼓舞了西北人民的抗日救国热情。对于后来加强壮大西北红军，巩固发展陕甘边苏区都起到了重大作用。” 王泰吉像（资料照片）
