we d like that chance to go to 0%. congress calls for help. lots of talk from the government but the next guest says washington is still not helping enough. the president of plaquemines s perrish in new orleans joins us. the whale ship is out there. what have you heard and what do you want the federal government to do right now. we want to put it to work and we want to bring more vessels in. bring in one it seems we re doing this one at a time. we bring it in, park it in venice, everybody climbs on and takes pictures. then it goes out to test. i realize today it was shut down because of high seas. they couldn t finish testing. they re going to resume tomorrow. but we wasted several weeks with the showing of the vessel. it didn t need to come toughens
many reporting needs are voluntary and air-traffic controllers can really screw up and come within feet of a major disaster and not report it, is that accurate? well, what we have here is a coverup system. we ve had stories we ve gotten from controllers where part of the equipment will break and the supervisors will cover it up. i think we have a new day at the faa with a new at minute straighter but we have but we have a situation where congress will not consistently funded faa and airline industry that doesn t demand better. these are what we re up against and it could happen again where two airlines run into each other and the plane load meets jesus. let s hope not. many people praised ronald reagan when he laid off traffic controllers but they have a
emergency room with a great deal of demand. that s one of the things that causes the waiting lines. by the way, emergency rooms are for people with real emergencies. if you are having a coronary you can t wait in the emergency room for care. there s a misconception it s only medicaid or illegal immigrants crowding the emergency rooms. people with private insurance are using it if they have a high co-pay or don t want to be on record with the injury. it s not just the medicaid. no, it s many cases private care too. but one of the things we found is if you charge just a $25 deductible for a visit to the emergency room you can reduce the costs. one of the things i good for and a lot of opponents of obama care, give people medical savings accounts where costs are
advertise it and make sure it s paid for and not go into debt. thank you very much for joining us on your world. thank you. if you thought the president s healthcare law would reduce emergency room visits and crowding, think again. a report finds it may mean longer waits and more crowding. the reason? more medicaid recipients. but that s not all. steve moor is not surprised. steve, that report pretty much putting to rest or suggesting that everything that we ve been told about this healthcare law reducing crowding in emergency rooms is false. what do you make of it? it s the first sign this plan is having the opposite effect that we hoped for. when you see longer lines and emergency rooms. when you see signs that there are emergency clinics and then you have doctors that are basically saying they re not going to treat as many patients because of the reductions in the prices paid by medicare and
shoreline. look at this graphic. noaa, national oceanic and atmospheric administration, came up with a forecast of likelihood based on historic current and weather patterns. you take the southern tip of texas to the louisiana state line, you have a zero to 40% chance of oil impacting the beaches. mouth of the mississippi to the florida panhandle, 81 to 100% chance and many have already seen it. south on the west side of florida, the peninsula, less than 20% chance it impacts the naples, fort myers, marco island area but then the loop current, according to noaa, over time in totality here, then you ll see an 81 60 1% to 80%.
