point of view of managing his time simply to usher this thing through, and then to enjoy the tax benefits and the grat ud of the republican donor class. neera tanden, i worked on a bunch of conference committees in the congress when i was working in the senate. i was amused today to see senator mccain, senator graham falling for this idea of getting a promise from the speaker of having a conference. that s all they wanted. what they don t seem to understand, they certainly don t have enough experience with this particular area of legislation to understand that you can have a conference. the conference committee can meet from the house and the senate, and in very short order, the house of representatives can just say, upon conferencing, we accept the senate bill. absolutely. and just take up the senate bill after the conference whether the conference is five minutes or five days, just take the senate bill and pass it. absolutely. also they ve just given up all their leverage. th
[laughs] i feared going to fail and then we should convene a conferencing what are we going to do. kat: vice president mike pence struck a more optimistic tone. this president and this administration promised the american people will repeal and replace obamacare. the senate now is within weeks of being able to deliver on the promise. the legislation before the senate for which there is not agreement but we are close, very close. we can get it done and i believe we will. kat: capri, we were talking about this in the green room. how are these conversations working towards compromise? you need votes from two separate groups of people who want the opposite thing. the conservatives say it goes too far and the more moderate say doesn t go far enough. how do you have a compromise? capri: it s going to be incredibly difficult. they managed to pull it off in
on and getting done? nothing! this is your answer to an irs scandal. no. where the internal revenue service targeted groups that were in poopopposition of the administration and when people started asking questions the e-mails got destroyed. you can go back to the beginning of the process. then they destroy the computers. i think the democrats and republicans are maybe i can put a ribbon on this discussion. very concerned about it. i think the point you can use a scandal for good or you can use it for powership. i think the scandal is democrats were late to it but when they jumped on it, what happened they produced a bill in the senate, they are conferencing in the house that basically puts both parties ideas together how to improve the situation and if that bill were to go through and give more money to v.a. hospitals and hire more doctors and cut bureaucratic red cape and that is the constructive fix to scandal i think you re talking
